Back to Pack helps backpackers find work, track their visa days and find a room. This page says what we keep about you, who sees it and how to get rid of it. Last updated 3 October 2026.
What we keep
- Your email, if you sign in, and the name and country you choose to show.
- Your visa subclass, which year you're working towards, your passport country and when you plan to apply.
- The jobs you add, the days you log, the hours, and the start and finish times when you clock in.
- Your location at clock in, only if your phone allows it. It's evidence of where you worked and nothing else.
- Payslips you upload, and the gross pay you type in.
- Jobs you apply for and rooms you list.
- For employers: business name, email and phone, and the jobs posted.
Who sees it
- An employer you apply to sees your name, country, visa subclass, how many days you've logged and how many were signed off. You agree to this each time you apply. They get your email only if they accept you.
- An employer you send a sign-off link to sees the days you logged at their business and nothing else.
- Someone asking about your room gets your email, and only if they're signed in.
- Nobody else. We don't sell your details, show them to advertisers or send you marketing.
Where it's stored
On Cloudflare, with the database and payslip files set to the Oceania region. Cloudflare is a US company, so its staff or US authorities could in some cases access data it holds. Payslips are private and only you can open yours.
Getting rid of it
Sign in on My days and tap Delete my account. That removes your account, days, payslips, applications and listings straight away.
If something goes wrong
If your details are exposed in a breach that could seriously harm you, we'll tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as soon as we know.
